Description

The Atomic Backland Summit 9 BR is a versatile backcountry ski touring binding designed to make uphill travel simple while delivering reliable performance on the descent. Combining an intuitive design with adjustable release settings and built-in flex absorption, it offers a user-friendly solution for skiers looking for lightweight touring performance without compromising control or confidence.

Its Release Value Adjustment allows release settings up to 9, providing a customizable setup adapted to different skiers and skiing styles. The integrated AutoFlex System adds approximately 5 mm of travel between the toe and heel pieces as the ski flexes through a turn. This added elasticity allows the binding to better follow the ski’s natural movement while helping improve shock absorption, stability, and overall downhill performance.

For efficient ascents, the climbing aid can be adjusted between 0°, 7°, and 13° with a quick flick of a ski pole, making it easy to adapt to changing terrain without removing your skis. The touring brakes feature a practical locking mechanism that allows for quick transitions between walk and ski modes.

The patented Step-in Aid helps guide the boot into the correct position for smoother and more intuitive entry. Meanwhile, the Alu/PA pin toe and heel pieces combine lightweight aluminum with fiberglass-reinforced PA material, keeping the binding light enough for long climbs while providing the strength and reliability needed for controlled descents.

With its combination of lightweight construction, adjustable release values, climbing versatility, and enhanced ski-flex compatibility, the Atomic Backland Summit 9 BR is an accessible and dependable choice for backcountry skiers who want an easy-to-use touring binding for both uphill efficiency and downhill performance.
