Description
The Atomic Backland Summit 12 BR is a lightweight yet durable touring binding designed for skiers who want to explore a wide range of terrain in the backcountry. It combines low weight for efficient uphill travel with reliable construction and performance-focused features for confident descents.
Its adjustable release value up to 12 allows skiers to fine-tune the binding to their needs while providing dependable release performance. The AutoFlex System uses a spring integrated into the heel mechanism to provide up to 5 mm of travel between the toe and heel throughout a turn. This added elasticity works with the ski’s natural flex, improves impact absorption, and contributes to a smoother, more controlled ride.
The patented Step-in Aid helps guide the ski boot into the correct position, making it easier to step into the binding. For uphill travel, the climbing aid adjusts to 0°, 7°, or 13° and can be quickly changed with a ski pole, allowing skiers to adapt their stance to different slopes and terrain.
The touring brakes feature a practical locking system that makes switching between hike and ski modes quick and straightforward. The Alu/PA Pin Toe and Heel combine aluminum with high-performance PA reinforced with fiberglass, creating a lightweight construction that remains strong and dependable when it’s time to descend.
Balancing low weight, versatility, elasticity, and reliable performance, the Atomic Backland Summit 12 BR is built for ski tourers looking to move efficiently uphill while maintaining confidence and control on the way back down.
